The Girlfriend Collective: Become a part of something great, plus FREE leggings

Perusing the interwebs late last evening, I stumbled upon a Refinery29 article sharing with their readers the wonderful world that is the Girlfriend Collective. And now I share with you:

A start-up company in the business of making quality athleisure leggings ethically from recycled water bottles in their SA8000 certified factories. That’s it. Simple.

The real buzz that is swarming around the Seattle based company, however, is the fact they are giving away the product for free. Less free if you consider paying the shipping fee—but $30 Canadian to me is worth it. The third and current batch of product shipment will be sent out in August. It is a bit of a wait, but after reading more about the company, I am happy to be a part of their atypical marketing plan: getting the product to consumers for them to try it; getting the consumer to share and discuss their product (they save marketing costs and we as the consumer, save on sustainable product).

They is smart.

Bonus: If you’re a fan of Lululemon, a member of their team was a lead women’s designer for the yoga company. Just saying.

So, late last night I became one of thousands of women to sign up for a pair of high-waisted quality leggings. And you can too.
